The San Juan Elementary PTA donated this week’s worth of its recyclables collected for a statewide contest to Truman Benedict Elementary in San Clemente, where, according to the Orange County Register, thieves had recently stolen 64 bags full of aluminum cans and plastic bottles.
“It is the least we can do to help them meet their goal and build up their collection once again,” said Patch columnist and parent Melissa Hodge. After all, Truman Benedict had “provided our school with the necessary training to get our recycling program started.”
