San Juan Woman Suspected of a Smash-'n-Grab

Laguna Beach Police officers arrest a local woman Monday night.

Laguna Beach Police suspect a San Juan Capistrano resident is responsible for a smash-and-grab, the Coastline Pilot reported.

According to the paper, a woman reported Monday night that someone broke her minivan’s window and stole her purse, Capt. Jason Kravetz told the Coastline Pilot.

Not long after, a resident near the area reported that a "strange woman was crouching behind vehicles and going through a purse," Kravetz said.

Police arrested Heidi Nicole Serna, 40, on suspicion of burglary, false identification to officers and a warrant for contempt of court, the paper reported.
