What's the Best Burger in San Juan Capo?
Who serves up the best burger in town? Vote for your favorite place in our Best of San Juan Capistrano Patch poll.
There's nothing like sinking your teeth into a juicy, mouth-watering burger.
Patch is banking that its readers have their favorite burgers, and we want to find them. Whether slathered in bleu cheese or special sauce, whether flanked by sesame seed buns or sourdough, whether the lettuce is leafy or chopped, whether shouldering bacon or mushrooms or both, there are a million combinations of burgers.
Patch will be designating a "Best Burger in Town" award to one establishment in San Juan Capistrano.
The winner might come from a burger chain, an indie burger joint or a hoity-toity restaurant. The champ could be all-beef, or an ahi tuna burger. Every place, and every burger, is unique.
Once we get nominations, we'll have a poll for readers to vote for the best burger and a forum to debate the issue because, really, that's going to be just as fun.
Nominate your favorite burger in the comments, or email Penny.Arevalo@Patch.com with "BEST BURGER" in the subject line.
The presidential candidates can talk about health care; we want to talk about how to clog our arteries. Or, if you're into low-fat, tell us about your favorite veggie burger.
The best burger. Bring it on.
And bring an order of fries with it.
Here are some possible choices (let us know if we have left out your favorite):
- Agustin Mexican Food
- Bad to the Bone BBQ
- Bravo Burgers
- Carl's Jr. Restaurant
- Cedar Creek Inn
- Del Taco
- Denny's Restaurant
- El Adobe
- The Hot Lunch Lady
- Jack in the Box
- L'Hirondelle
- Marie Callenders Restaurant & Bakery
- McDonald's
- Mollies Famous Cafe
- Montego Restaurant
- Ruby's Diner
- Sarducci's Capistrano Depot
- Sundried Tomato Café
- Swallow's Inn
- Thai Juan On
- Vintage Steakhouse
Nominate your favorite before Friday at 5 p.m., and we'll include it in our poll. We'll start voting on Monday, Feb. 27. If there's a tie, the location with the most positive comments and reviews will win.

Thanks, Steve. I have added Swallow's Inn. As a pesca-vegetarian (yes, I do realize that's an oxymoron), I need all the help I can get with this one!

Ok, I have two. For the bar burger, Lisa's at Swallow's. For a sit down, the lamb burger with truffle fries at Sundried Tomato. So yummy.

Hands down, it is the burger at L'Hirondelle. Probably the best burger in Orange County. Pricey, but worth it.

THE VERY best burger isn't in Capo. It's at Turk's in the harbor. I'm constantly on the lookout for a good cheeseburger & Turk's consistently comes out on top.

I'm like you Penny - a pesca-vegetarian but my husband Ted, a true carnivore, claims Vintage Steakhouse has the best burger. Having said that, I don't think he's tasted the burgers at Lisa's Kitchen at Swallows -from the votes, I think he'll be trying one there soon!

Tannins Restaurant just opened a new place above it, and they make an outrageously good burger too. They’re not on this list?

The best burger in town is definitely Lisa's Kitchen at the Swallows Inn! Even my Mom from the midwest says "The best burger I have ever had is a Lisa Burger", as a matter of fact she flew here from Illinois just last week so she could have one! The grilled cheese and patty melt are winners too!
