Is it really two miles from the San Juan train station in order to see the parade?
Donna Fleming March 27, 2014 at 03:15 PM
A little pre-planning could have solved this problem. Walking across the tracks and out toward theRead MoreL os Rios area would have been a shorter walk. Possibly picking up folks near Ito's nursery. Just a thought for next time.
Matt Gaffney April 02, 2014 at 01:32 PM
All you have to do is walk a short block up Verdugo St. & you're on Camino Capistrano.

Maeve Mcdonough April 03, 2014 at 10:04 AM
The Trading Post is perfect just the way it is! The building that I think is the real eyesore isRead Morethe Mission Grill. Those sheets of clear plastic that they wrap the place in on cool days, and the metal doors that they pull down after closing are just horrible.

I was also wondering if we would have to go to court for that as an individual case. It is soRead Moreridicu lous, I am so sick of the current Mayor & the other crooked people at the City. Bring back the old crew, Lon Uso was better & really was 'for', the interest of the people & not profiteering off of real estate development & overcharging residents. There is no trust at all with evil Sam at the helm!! Vote him out already!!
Donna Fleming March 25, 2014 at 09:12 PM
We will probably have to file a law suit to force the city to pay residents for over charges on our Read Morewater bills. Sam will continue to rule until we vote him and his posse out.

Just look how long it took to re-do the off ramp at Camino Cap.

A hotel would be great. But, why the 33 townhomes? Why is that a package deal? We need a hotel, weRead Mored o not neet townhomes in town. Unless the city wants to sell the city offices property and build on that site. City Council can move in with school district offices which are newer. Yes, and about that water? We are in a drought, stop the building.
rob March 24, 2014 at 06:02 PM
Totally agree Donna. I actually think the city will ruin old downtown with this hotel. The city is Read Morejealous of Dana Point. If we need a hotel (which I'm sure we do) build it out of downtown and run s shuttle like many hotels do or cabs. the 33 townhouses is totally ridiculous. Idiots

Smokey Bear March 08, 2014 at 03:37 AM
Yeah, you are absolutely right. How many years can he be Mayor, I don't even know, 10 years seemsRead Moreto be about the time that my problems with the city started. He has been endlessly sending me emails even though I unsubscribe a million times. Also, I was told that they had enough signatures on the recall list, so what is the real story there? I hate this arrogant, town ruining awful rat!
Donna Fleming March 08, 2014 at 11:06 AM
Smokey... I am confused about the signature list too. He will just go right on with his closed door Read Moremeetings, and back door deals. San Juan Cares is funded by businesses, and I think he has them all scared.

Shri, perhaps the reason the school gave for not allowing clothing donning the American flag wasRead Moremis guided, but they were perhaps unknowingly, complying with the Federal Flag Act which "addresses the impropriety of using the flag as an article of personal adornment, a design on items of temporary use, and item of clothing. The evident purpose of these suggested restraints is to limit the commercial or common usage of the flag and, thus, maintain its dignity."
Shripathi Kamath March 01, 2014 at 12:57 PM
That would only be relevant had they, perhaps, argued so. Perhaps you should read the decision.Read MoreAlso , perhaps you could consider that wearing such shirts is common and not considered to violate any dignity. Then perhaps you could note that burning the flag, which perhaps is more undignified than wearing it, is protected speech.
Maeve Mcdonough March 01, 2014 at 09:39 PM
Point taken, and I realize that the Federal Flag Act is not a law, but a set of guidelines toRead Morepreser ve the dignity of the flag.
