Metrolink and Amtrak service that normally extends into San Diego County will stop in southern Orange County this weekend because of track work.

Amtrak trains will not run south of Irvine, and Metrolink trains will reverse course at the Laguna Niguel-Mission Viejo station Saturday and Sunday.

Trains leaving Union Station-Los Angeles on the Coastliner route, and from Riverside on the 91 Line, will operate on the truncated schedules.

Several sections of track will be renovated in San Diego County, meaning commuter trains there will also not run. Limited bus service will be provided in the gap, but patrons should consult the rail agencies for details.

Construction work will be performed at the Santa Margarita Bridge in Camp Pendleton, the Coast Boulevard crossing in Del Mar, the San Dieguito Bridge, and between Sorrento Valley Road and Miramar Road.

Rail service is scheduled to be restored in time for the Monday morning commute.

Rob, I agree with you. All that we ever receive are empty promises. Until a lawsuit is filed against the OCTA, who owns the right of way and the City of San Juan Capistrano who now has the responsibility and liability for the crossing, nothing will be resolved and we will continue to receive lip service from the OCTA and the City.

Yes Clint, lawsuits are the answer to everything.

Steve Behmerwohld, keep in mind, our City is the only one in the United States that has a restraining order against it for violating the First Amendment of the United States Constitution. Outer City is also the same one that has violated the California State Constitution by charging water rates that have been deemed illegal by the Orange County Superior Court. I am sorry that you feel it is ok to violate federal and state constitutional rights. I don't think it is. You have been to the many City Council meetings Steve Behmerwohld where the Ghost Train has been discussed. Here we are Steve 10 years later and not one single thing with the Ghost Train has gotten better in those 10 years. In fact, with the traffic signal at the Del Obispo crossing, it has gotten worse. So, Steve Behmerwohld, after 10 years of nothing happening, what do you suggest ? You have obviously thought about it. What do you recommend to resolve the problem before someone dies because medical help cannot get to them because they are stuck by the Ghost Train. I look forward to your answer Steve Behmerwohld.

I would not be surprised if you delete your comment Steve Behmerwohld.

Steve Behmerwohld, so where is your plan to fix the Ghost Train?
