9/11 Memorial Will Feature Mission Bells, Sheriff Hutchens

The event begins 8 a.m. Sept. 11 at Historic Town Center Park in downtown San Juan Capistrano.

With a memorial event, San Juan Capistrano will pay tribute to the heroes who risked their lives and those who died on 9/11.

The San Juan Capistrano 9/11 Day of Remembrance will be held at 8 a.m. Sept. 11 at , 31806 El Camino Real.

The memorial will include an Orange County Sheriff's Department color guard and bugler; Orange County Fire Authority fire engines; an invocation by Msgr. Art Holquin; and comments by , fire Chief Keith Richter and Sheriff Sandra Hutchens.

At 8:45 a.m., will ring its bell to signify when the first of the World Trade Center towers was hit. students will sing "God Bless America" and the Rev. Phil DeVaul will give the closing prayer.
