Marines Spruce up Gardens at Kinoshita Elementary

Marines from Camp Pendleton and even a member of the U.S. Navy stopped by Kinoshita Elementary in San Juan Capistrano to give some “sweat equity” to the students in honor of Patriots Day.

The servicemen spruced up several raised gardens, re-straining the wood siding and planting fresh sod.

The students will then plant vegetables, which when ripened, will forward to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, said Arturo Garcia, a volunteer with OneOC, which coordinated the event.
