Few things stand out more than the colorful rainbow of farm equipment at Vermeulen Ranch Center on Del Obispo Street. In a town filled with landmarks, the collection of the late Charles Vermeulen is a tribute to Orange County farming and to the man himself, an established farmer in the city.
The approximately 2,000 farm items cover an array of equipment from tractors to water pumps. The primary colors are eye-catching—bright yellow shovels, blue pitchforks, green or red tractors.
Vermeulen market was the place to go. Now the small shopping center houses and other local businesses that continue to draw locals.
