SDG&E is planning an outage tonight in west San Juan Capistrano.

San Diego Gas & Electric has scheduled a planned outage in San Juan Capistrano near Del Obispo between midnight tonight and 5 a.m.

It's all part of an undergrounding effort, according to the city.

SDG&E crew will be pulling cable into the conduit from the new SDG&E handhole on the west side of Del Obispo Street to the SDG&E handhole on Alipaz Street, just south of Del Obispo Street. The SDG&E overhead wire removal is tentatively scheduled for Jan. 13-15.

Isn't tonight the tree lighting in San Juan Capistrano? Is this the best night to turn out the power?

The outage was last night. Dec. 7 began at midnight. So power is fully restored and ready for the tree lighting.
