What Do You Think of the Proposed Retaining Wall at Stonehill?

More freeway construction is coming soon along the I-5 in San Juan Capistrano.

Just when you thought the Ortega Highway interchange project was the only major construction along a San Juan Capistrano freeway …

Caltrans’ next big project is to add a carpool lane in each direction from San Juan Creek Road to Avenida Pico in San Clemente, reconstruct the Pico interchange and add soundwalls.

The San Juan Capistrano portion of it will begin in early 2014, project spokeswoman Julie Toledo told the City Council Tuesday.

She displayed a drawing for the new, 800-foot-across retaining wall at Stonehill Drive, which is designed to reflect Mission San Juan Capistrano with the bells and texture of the Great Stone Church.
