What Is Your Wish List for San Juan Capistrano's Only Bookstore?

The SJC Friends of the Library, which will re-open its store in a few months, would like to know.

Behind this gate at the San Juan Capistrano library is where the new bookstore is located.

San Juan Capistrano doesn’t have a bookstore, but that’s all about to change soon.

The SJC Friends of the Library has been remodeling their bookstore to expand it. They’re targeting a June re-opening, and because they’re the only bookstore in town, they’d love to get your opinions about what it should offer.

You can take the online survey here.

Longer hours of service would be great. And, more floor space for books.

The new bookstore will be much bigger than the old. Think they said about 700 square feet, IIRC
Steve Behmerwohld February 18, 2014 at 02:47 AM
Donna, the bookstore is staffed by volunteers. Maybe you would like to help. You seem to have plenty of spare time. http://www.sjcfol.org/

Sell all the books to the library so they can be checked out then close the bookstore. Not sure why anybody "buys" books when they already "own" them for loan at the library.

Is this a volunteer job Steven Behmerwohld where you don't get paid? Or, is it a job where you do get paid, such as when your portray Santa Claus and you get paid by the city to do so, yet you tell everyone that you volunteer?
Donna Fleming February 18, 2014 at 09:25 PM
Steve.. I would consider volunteering, depending on hours available. My time is not totally flexible though as I have other obligations.
Steve Behmerwohld February 18, 2014 at 11:14 PM
Donna, I'm sure they would love to have your help. sanjuanfol@gmail.com Tomato, you got me. I have helped set up the stage and lights for the Multi- cultural arts program for a few years and got to serve wine when Michael Graves visited recently. That's how I paid for my mansion in the Bahamas. The $186 that I "ripped off" the citizens of San Juan for as Santa, pays for my fleet of Rolls Royce's. I'm surprised that your research hasn't shown that. Maybe if you didn't waste so much time babbling away on patch, you could join Donna and help out at Friends of the Library.
Tornado Johnson February 18, 2014 at 11:45 PM
Maybe you should sell you Rolls Royce's and give the money to people who truly need it Steven Behmerwohld. I appreciate your thoughts on how and what I should do with my life. My reasearch shows that actually you have posted more time on Patach than I have in the past week. So, if that is wasting time as you say, you won!
Steve Behmerwohld February 18, 2014 at 11:52 PM
Not if you count all your aliases. What happened to your research that I was paid thousands to volunteer? Just more made up "facts"?
Steve Behmerwohld February 24, 2014 at 12:54 PM
And the silence is deafening.
Sunshine February 24, 2014 at 01:21 PM
Steve, since you're asking Donna, how many hours have you signed up for to volunteer at the library?
Donna Fleming February 24, 2014 at 02:06 PM
Steve..., Advocating for transparency in our city government is not a waste of time. Had we all been aware of secret meeting within the city council, land deals, water issues, law suits, developers contributions to Sam, we would be better prepared for the crisis we face today. No water. But, build more houses. More strip malls.
Tornado Johnson February 24, 2014 at 02:32 PM
No Steven Behmerwohld, this is my name. No aliases. My photo is attached. I did not realize that you wanted me to post my research. Not all of the research on you is flattering. You have read my research I posted on Mr. Rob Ferguson and Matthew Gaffney. It was not flattering. I believe I will hold off on posting my research. If I can find out how you were paid $186.00 by the city for portraying Santa Claus, who knows what else my research has turned up !
Tornado Johnson February 24, 2014 at 02:36 PM
So Steven Behmerwohld, screwing in a couple of light bulbs and handing out wine is your version of volunteering ? Wow !
Sunshine February 24, 2014 at 02:36 PM
Keep up the good work, Tornado!!! Your name fits you!!!
Tornado Johnson February 24, 2014 at 02:48 PM
Thank you Sunshine. Us girls have to stick together.

Thank you Donna Fleming !

Many of these men were obviously not raised by their mom's to respect women. That's why I was verbally attacked at Vons by Hans, an Allevato supporter, who combatively got in my space.

Know your enemy.
Steve Behmerwohld February 25, 2014 at 08:17 PM
Tomato, to save you some "research" time, contact http://www.sjcfol.org/ for Friends of the Library. For the $186 that I "ripped off" the citizens of San Juan for, call Community Services at 4931171. I'm still waiting for your "research" that shows that I "ripped off" the citizens of San Juan for "thousands of dollars". That is quite a serious allegation. I hope that you have more than hot air to back it up?
Tornado Johnson February 26, 2014 at 09:54 AM
Oh Steven K Behmerwohld what to do with you? I am reading the comments on this blog and you are the one that commented "ripped off" on February 18, 2014 at 11:14pm. I did not make that comment. I did not also make the "thousands of dollars" comment". I do find intriguing that you would make those quotes about yourself. Is it a guilty self conscience? One must think so. No hot air here Steven K Behmerwohld. If you don't believe me you can research yourself the financial and fraud lawsuits that were filed against Rob Ferguson. Or the Trustees Sales and judgments filed against Matthew Gaffney. Pork the tax liens in the tens of thousands of dollars on both of them. Now, Steven K Behmerwohld do you really want to take me on?
