PHOTOS: Tree House in Los Rios Historic District

Los Rios Street, San Juan Capistrano

Time has no place in the Los Rios Street in the Historic District in San Juan Capistrano. Over the years, it remains the same.

Historic homes between mature trees make a great location to visit. Can you see the "Tree House" picture?

The City Website:   Located within the sistrict, the O'Neill Museum is a rustic but genteel wooden structure that was one of San Juan Capistrano's earliest homes. The museum provides today's visitors a charming glimpse of life 100 years ago.

The museum is located at 31831 Los Rios St. School groups and organizations are invited to arrange guided tours by calling the Historic Society office at 949-493-8444. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m., Tuesday through Friday and Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.

Among other significant features of the district are the numerous single-wall board and batten homes erected between 1887 and 1910. Most homes are private residences, however, several provide specialty retail, restaurant and commercial services.
