Cockroach Infestation Closes San Juan Capistrano Chinese Restaurant

Orange County health inspectors noted the critters last week. The restaurant was able to resume business the next day.

Health inspectors shut down Yoon Kee Chinese Kitchen in San Juan Capistrano last week because of cockroach infestation.

Officials with Orange County Environmental Health visited the restaurant, at the corner of Del Obispo and Alipaz streets, Thursday and noted a cockroach infestation that warranted shutting down the restaurant, according to online documents.

The restaurant, however, was able to open the next day after addressing the problem.

A routine inspection in March found a number of violations, including improper hand washing when the chef was observed mopping and then washing his hands without soap and incorrect temperatures for food holding in a steam table.
