Orange County Construction Job Growth Third Highest in U.S.

Combine us with Los Angeles and we're No. 1.

Construction jobs in Orange County are back.

When combined with Los Angeles County, the region added more construction employment in 2013 than any other metropolitan area in the nation, the Associated General Contractors of America said today.

Orange County alone added 8,200 full-time equivalent jobs, and Los Angeles-Long Beach-Glendale had 9,100. Only the greater Atlanta area added more jobs than either of the California counties: 10,500.

Severed from Los Angeles, Orange County had the third highest gain nationwide.

“Construction employment continued to expand in many parts of the country in November, but most areas have a long way to go before reaching prior peak levels,” said the association's chief executive officer, Stephen E. Sandherr.
