Sundried Tomato Closing Laguna Beach Location

Sundried Tomato American Bistro and Catering will continue to focus on its San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano locations.

It's been in Laguna Beach for 12 years, but the Sundried Tomato American Bistro and Catering will close its smallest location on Sunday night.

The closure of Sundried Tomato, located at 361 Forest Ave., is necessary because it no longer fits the business because of its size and overhead, according to Rob Quest, the restaurant's managing partner. Sundried Tomato American Bistro and Catering plans to go forward focusing its efforts on its San Clemente and San Juan Capistrano locations.

"We have and always will continue to grow our brand, keep it fresh and look forward to new opportunities down the road," Quest said in an email. "Most people do not realize that we have always done all of our catering out of our San Juan Capistrano location, so we look forward to many more years of catering events in Laguna."

The San Clemente location features a bar with four large screens for watching sports, a happy-hour menu, dining room, fireplace lounge and patio with views.

Sundried Tomato American Bistro and Catering was founded in 1993 in Whittier, and later closed that location in 1997. For information on menus, events and catering, visit sundriedtomatocafe.com.
