Eco Xpo Garden Show May 17-18 at San Juan Capistrano's Los Rios Park

The first "Eco Xpo" Sustainable Living Show is set for May 17-18 at Los Rios Park in San Juan Capistrano.

The weekend Eco Xpo is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 31790 Paseo Adelanto in the Historic District of San Juan Capistrano.

Hosted by Goin Native Therapeutic Gardens, Eco Xpo will educate and encourage people to have beautiful, bountiful and beneficial gardens while conserving and reducing resources through innovative landscape design, low-water plants and solar and LED lighting.

The event is free to the public and will feature demonstration gardens, expert speakers, activities for children, local produce, edible landscapes, habitat gardens, environmental products and resources and much more. Nurseries and about 50 vendors from all over will converge at Los Rios Park for a fun-filled weekend.

Proceeds will benefit the beautification and butterfly habitat of Los Rios Park.

Goin Native Therapeutic Gardens has cared for the California native plants at Los Rios Park since the city built the 6.5-acre park in 2009. The nonprofit organization is committed to providing horticultural education, emotional and physical rehabilitation and practical life skills to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, while promoting environmental sustainability and saving community resources.
