BLOG: Deputy Dog Signing Off, But Still on the Job

Senor San Juan and Ms Fiesta 2012 make way for new dignitaries at Fiesta Association BBQ

Hi everyone! Deputy Dog, Gus here saying "howdy" to San Juan Capistrano.

Yesterday there was quite a BBQ at Zoomars (where my friend, ) and the Fiesta Association had a great party with good food, dancing and fabulous music. Guess the vittles were delicious Santa Maria beans, tri tip steak and salad.

Ron sure knows how to throw a great meal together and the portions were generous....or at least that's what my Dad (Fish) and Nancy told me. You see, they were Señor San Juan and Ms Fiesta for the past year and as Deputy Dog, I usually get to go with them to town, but I had to stay home.

Just wanted to tell all of you i missed seeing you, but I'll still be walking around keeping the streets of San Juan safe.

Anyways, yesterday a set of new dignitaries were elected: Pamela and Jim!  They're going to do a great job of representing the Fiesta Association for the next year. Be sure to congratulate them when you see them walking around town with the royal blue and gold sashes.

Oh, my Dad and Nancy wanted to say "thank you" to everyone in San Juan Capistrano that they've met over the past year while putting in over 193 hours and over 1,135 miles around town.

To everyone on the City Council: You guys rock!!! What a blast celebrating all the positivies about this great town! To all the businesses we visited:  Each one of you brings something unique to San Juan Capistrano. To the people of San Juan Capistrano: You made our job so pleasant with your smiles and hospitality. To Fiesta Association: Thank you for electing us last year and for your support. Our lives have been changed forever, and we will always remember this past year as a bright spot.

Remember to start planning for the 55th Swallows Day Parade in March of next year! The theme is "HAPPY TRAILS," so dust off the boots and get ready to celebrate!

Happy Trails!

Deputy Dog, Gus

P.S.  Don't you think my Dad and Nancy look great in their last picture as Señor San Juan and Ms Fiesta! Woof-Woof!!!!!
