Are You Ready for Some More Rain?

The National Weather Service records less than one-fifth of an inch of rain in San Juan Capistrano Tuesday. Sports fields are closed due to the wet weather.

A second storm—expected to pack a bigger a punch than Tuesday's—will blow into Orange County Wednesday afternoon.

Rain will increase and become widespread across Orange County throughout the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. A cold front will move through the region Wednesday night as most of the precipitation decreases.

A few thunderstorms are possible late Wednesday and Thursday morning, forecasters said.

The county is expected to receive one to two inches of rain. Snow will accumulate only at the highest elevations.

On its Facebook page, Orange County Parks posted a status update Tuesday that predicted some trail closures might be necessary Wednesday. "We've seen some rain today, but no trail closures. From the look of the weather, we may not be so lucky on Wednesday."

To the delight of local snowboarders and skiers, Mammoth Mountain got a slight dusting on Tuesday.
