City Manager's Update: Oct. 28, 2011

The Sycamore Ridge Trail gets repairs, the Planning Commission reviews plans to renovate Pedro's Tacos and the groundwater plant produces an average of 4.11 million gallons daily thus far in October.

SYCAMORE RIDGE TRAIL: Extensive trail repairs and grading were made to the Sycamore Ridge trail (alongside the Old San Juan HOA), where K-rails and water bars were placed to improve drainage.

NEW FUEL CARDS: The new fleet card program which provides fuel for the City vehicles (US Voyager Bank Fleet Card) has been implemented. The system was approved by the City Council in July. As results of the new fueling system, the City expects to realize up to $4,000 of savings annually.

NEW APPLICATIONS: Between Sept.16 and Oct.15, 2011, Development Services received the following new applications: 8 development, 9 home occupation, 6 special activity permits, 5 banners, 11 tree removals and one temporary use permit.

MISSION GRILLS (PEDRO'S TACOS): The Planning Commission work session review was conducted Oct. 11 of, and a Design Review Committee work session was conducted Oct. 20. The Design Review Committee provided significant design and architectural comments and continued the project to a formal DRC review on Nov. 17. If the applicant addresses the comments, a Planning Commission public hearing can be scheduled in December.

FORSTER MANSION: The Forster Mansion applicant/operator has appealed the Planning Commission decision to revoke the CUP for the special event facility. T

DEL OBISPO STREET BRIDGE: In the past week, the contractor stripped forms for the east pier and pier nose on the east side of the creek, and then grouted and finished them. They worked on the forms for the wall south of Del Obispo Street along Paseo Adelanto, and they poured concrete for a southern section of it. They stripped the forms for the parapet wall north of Del Obispo along Paseo Adelanto. They also set the steel cage, finished the forms, and poured concrete for the west pier. And, they worked on the forms and the steel for the west abutment.

GROUNDWATER PLANT: Between Oct. 1 and Oct. 19, the plant , or 12.71 acre feet per day. Production to date for this fiscal year, has been 1,173.19 acre feet, headed towards the target of 3,500 acre feet.
