County Crews Seal Up Patches at Trabuco Creek

There's been construction activity at Trabuco Creek in the past week. That's because county crews are applying a liquid seal on top of the patches of rocks on each side.

The boulders are shoring up the levee in the wake of its near-collapse in December.

Orange County Public Works spokeswoman Deborah Kroner said the crews are also replacing portions of the popular walking and biking trail on each side of the creek. The work is taking place next to the intersection of Del Obispo Street and Paseo Adelanto.

Kroner said night work will be conducted, but the days will be dependent upon suggestions from the city. They want residents to be minimally affected by the noise and vibrations.

Early on Dec. 23, big chunks of the levee's concrete sliding began breaking off and crashing into the water. Runoff from the heavy rains that drenched the Southland had put pressure on the siding, and the creek .
