Cowboys 'Hang' Mayor Allevato

With a noose around his neck, Mayor Sam Allevato read a proclamation Tuesday night declaring Feb. 1 through April 30, 2011 as "Fiesta de las Golondrinas."

Members of the Fiesta Association, the nonprofit that hosts the annual Fiesta de las Golondrinas events, burst into the meeting, walked up to the dais and pretended to hang the mayor.

All in good fun, when Allevato was done reading the proclamation, the Fiesta Association members removed the noose to a round of applause.
