Gas Prices in Orange County Rise for Eighth Straight Day

The average cost of a gallon of gasoline rose in Orange County for the eighth consecutive day Saturday following a 22-day streak of decreases, increasing seven-tenths of a cent to $3.989. It is 4.2 cents more than one week ago and nine-tenths of a cent higher than one year ago, but 8.1 cents less than one month ago.

"Local wholesale prices rose about 20 cents in the last two weeks, apparently in response to some Southern California refinery incidents that appear to have been resolved and local gasoline supplies are reportedly good," said Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The price per gallon of regular gasoline in Orange County is still well above the national average of $3.61, according to GasBuddy.com, so shop wisely.
