JSerra kicked off San Juan's high school graduations with its , boasting a class of scholars with high GPAs and athletic accomplishments. Its valedictorian delivered his speech via video as he spent the day competing in the CIF state track championships in the 1600-meter race.

JSerra's Katherine Delaney in girls 1,600-race at the CIF State Championships Saturday. Sarah Paddon, a senior from St. Margaret's finished 10th overall in the girls 1,600 (4:53.05), while Luke Decker—JSerra's valedictorian—finished 12th in the boys 1,600 with a finish of 4:14.29.

A murder trial began this week in the, who prosecutors allege murdered a man he swindled out of hundreds of thousands of dollars, and whose body he is alleged to have dumped in the ocean out of Dana Point Harbor.
