A Tasty Night in San Juan With Patch

Live coverage ends with the news that Vito's is the big winner of the night, but there's still time to vote in our poll.

UPDATED WITH THE WINNERS: The envelope please ...

With the People's Choice awards, live from the Taste of San Juan (if you read this at 9 p.m. Wednesday):

  • Best Dessert Winner - Donna B's
  • Best Main Dish Winner- L'Hirondelle
  • Best Original Dish - 2nd Place; OC Rock and Roll Chef
  • Best Original Dish - Vito's

As of 9 p.m., Vito's was also the poll winner with four of the 16 votes cast at the event. We've decided to keep the poll open until noon Saturday, to give everyone who didn't go a chance to chime in, too. What's your favorite?

Hey everyone, it's Penny, your local editor who's not so local! I'm in New York, but I'm setting up this space as a place attendees of the annual Taste of San Juan can use to let us know what they think of of the 19 restaurants dishing out their tasty treats.

While I can't be there at the San Juan Hills Golf Club, Patch representatives are there, staffing a booth where tast-ers (or is that tastees?) can tell us what rates and what doesn't.

We'll be attaching a poll to this article as well. We are going to get their impressions FAST. (UPDATE: It's 6 p.m. and the poll is open until midnight.)

Until then, enjoy the pre-party pics. Getting hungry? Come join us! Well, not me in East Village, but Regional Publisher Dan Krolczyk, Regional Editor Laura Nott and Area Sales Manager Megan Silkman (we're bringing the big guns).

You can still get tickets at the door, $20 apiece. Don't forget to tell me all about it!
