SJC Power Outage Affects 115 Homes

UPDATE: All but 12 homes have seen the power restored. The cause is undetermined at this point.

UPDATE: The city reported at 5:02 p.m. that power is now restored to all those affected by today's power outage. Some did without electricity for nearly eight hours.

The city reported at 12:17 p.m. that power has been restored to all but 12 homes. SDG&E estimates power will be restored by 4 p.m. for the remaining units.

A power outage has turned out the lights, and the refrigerators, for 115 homes.

The area affected is south of Ortega Highway in the Mission Park tract, near the intersection of Via Sonora and Paseo Reposo, the city of San Juan Capistrano reported in an emailed bulletin.

The power went out at 9:18 a.m., according to the city. San Diego Gas & Electric workers are on scene and estimates power will be restored by 11:48 a.m.
