San Juan's Population Creeps Higher, New Census Data Shows

The 2010 population in San Juan Capistrano was 34,593.

The overall change in San Juan Capistrano's population in the last decade is barely noticeable with an increase of just 282 people, figures released Tuesday from the 2010 Census show.

Overall, the city's population in 2010 was 34,593, an increase of .82 percent compared with 2000.

That compares with neighboring Laguna Niguel, which saw a 1.8 percent percent bump in its population from 61,891 in 2000 to 62,979 in 2010. The 2010 population in the county of Orange was 3,010,232, an increase of 5.8 percent since 2000, according to the Census.
