Storm Likely to Bring Rain This Weekend

Forecasters predict a 70 percent chance of showers Saturday in San Juan Capistrano.

Another wet weekend is in store, but it looks like the incoming storm will pack less of a punch than initially forecast.

The best chance of rain in San Juan Capistrano will be Saturday, when there's a 70 percent chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service.

Veterans Day will remain dry until at least 4 p.m. making for good conditions for the .

Earlier this week, meteorologists predicted periods of heavy rain and high-elevation mountain snow. But they said Thursday that this storm, a low-pressure system about 500 miles west of Eureka, is a difficult one to predict.

"The rain chances and rain totals currently forecast are subject to change and may be reduced even further," Weather Service forecasters said. "A period of moderate rain is still possible sometime on Saturday west of the mountains."

The storm is not expected to be as cold as the one that blew into Orange County last weekend and brought nighttime temperatures in the low 40s. The highs this weekend will be in the low to mid 60s with lows in the 50s.
