The entire community is invited to begin the Lenten season with us at Community Presbyterian Church. You need not be a member or have ever attended services here before. Everyone who can come is welcome to take part in a very special evening.
On Ash Wednesday, February 13, the evening will start with a shared simple supper of soup and bread in Fellowship Hall at 6:00 p.m. Supper will be prepared by and is a gift from the Presbyterian Women. There will be no charge for the meal, and reservations are not necessary. Just come and join us for a time of fellowship and warm food.
Then, at 7:30 p.m., we will adjourn to the sanctuary for a contemplative worship service, which will include the imposition of ashes. This is a time to settle and focus our minds on the preparation for Easter. If you have never taken part in a service of ashes previously, you might find the experience particularly meaningful in your faith walk.
So please join us either for both parts of the evening or only for the worship service if you prefer. Guests are welcome, so bring your neighbors and friends. Suitable for all ages.
