Yes, The Ark has an ark full of rescued pets!This is NATIONAL PET ADOPTION weekend; two days of adoption events at PetSmart in the SJC Costco/Staples plaza.
DOGS ~ 10:AM - 2:PM Saturday and Sunday
CATS & KITTENS ~ 12: - 4:PM Saturday and Sunday
Please stop by to meet an array of wonderful pets waiting for their second chance to live in a safe & loving home.
Our town's lost & abandoned pets DO NOT go to the 'no-kill' shelters in San Clemente or Mission Viejo. They go to the County shelter in the City of Orange which also serves 16 other cities. In 2012 they took in 30,000 cats, dogs, bunnies and other pets. "Oh My!" indeed.
Without an animal shelter in San Juan Capistrano, The Ark has become the last hope for pets who, through no fault of their own, have become homeless. The County shelter notifies The Ark when our town's pets have 'run out of time.' It's an ongoing scramble for The Ark to pick these animals up, have them checked by a vet, find foster homes, take them to adoption events every weekend, etc., etc.
