Common Core - Changing CUSD's Math Curriculum

As a parent, it has become a full time job trying to research and stay on top of all the sweeping changes that the Federal and State Governments are thrusting upon "we the people", with little to no input from the Public. We have the Federal Government's Obama Care, we have Jerry Brown's Local Control Funding Formula, and now we have the Federal Government's Common Core State Standards for Education.   

Many parents are just starting to realize that the transition from California State Standards to the Common Core has already begun and some are saying, "Hey wait a minute- what is this?" Is this a good thing or a bad thing for our children?

Dave Chamberlain, head of CUSD's mathematics program has done an excellent job of outlining the transition from California State Standards to Common Core Standards in Mathematics for our students.
