Angels Legend Bobby Grich to Visit San Juan Capistrano Saturday

You can get four free tickets to a game next week while you safely dispose of some nasty stuff at the landfill.

Wanna meet a former angel?

Wait, that didn’t sound right. Want to meet a retired Angel?

Not sure that was better! How ‘bout we just say Angels legend Bobby Grich will be in San Juan Capistrano this weekend and handing out four free Angels baseball tickets.

Here’s how it works: Grich – who in 1988 became the first player ever voted into the Angels' Hall of Fame – will be at the Prima Deshecha Landfill up La Pata Avenue (past San Juan Hills High). His part is to sign one piece of Angels memorabilia for you and give you four tickets to the Sept. 24 game against the Oakland Athletics (we could really use that win!).

Your part is to bring in to the landfill some household hazardous waste. You know, stuff like oven cleaners, pool chemicals, automotive products, pesticides, electronics, flammable products and more.

The event is being hosted by OC Waste & Recycling and will include hands‐on projects and activities with Discovery Science Center, Goodwill of Orange County, CR&R Incorporated Environmental Services and OC Waste & Recycling.

Grich will be there from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Don’t forget to don your Angels gear.
