Did we tell you this was more than 16 months ago and one of his family members found out she had brain cancer in the interim?

This is a merry Christmas for one San Juan Capistrano family, who days ago was reunited with a beloved dog they lost more than 16 months ago.

In Parker, Ariz.

We're going to let the video, which is going viral on YouTube, tell the story. Grab a hankie.

Says Mom Dana O'Brien on Facebook: "Very grateful to the wonderful and caring people at the Yavapai Humane Society who took care of our Meko and helped him make his way home!

"This was the first bit of good news that our family has received since Mady's diagnosis in May and are very hopeful it is the first of many. Thank you so much, with love from Mady's family."

We told ya, get some Kleenex.

What a sweet story (fyi, "a" hankie may not be enough!). Merry Christmas O'Brien family and best wishes for Mady's recovery!

I warned you! If anyone would like to help the O'Brien family with Mady's medical expenses, go here: http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/help-mady-/75456 I found this update about Meko and Mady: Meko has since then has resumed normal life sleeping each night with Mady and spending as much time as he can with her when he isn't teaching manners to our newest furry friend Joey who we adopted 2 days before Mady's diagnosis. Our family has been through many lows since Mady was diagnosed and this was a very happy and joyous event which we hope to be the first of many.
