BLOG: Government Begs Terrorist Not To Talk

Terrorism Can't Be Fought In A Courtroom

I love the movie "The Bridge Over The River Kwai".  It is based on a real event although great liberties were taken with the facts.  British POWs were used as slave labor to build a bridge important to the Japanese war effort.  A British Colonel who has taken great nationalist pride in the quality of the bridge alerts the Japanese to its intended destruction by British commandos.  U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder has assumed this posture to the detriment of our nation's safety.

Remember it was Holder who was running the show when the Justice Department ran guns to Mexican drug cartels.  These same weapons have been used to kill dozens of Mexicans and one U.S. law enforcement officer.  Emails obtained indicate at least some in Obama administration sought to exploit this event to call for more restrictions on gun ownership.

Attorney General Holder has now declared those in the country illegally should be granted citizenship.  He referred to it as a right.  I don't recall that right being enumerated in the U.S. Constitution.  Perhaps Holder has a revised copy he is operating from.  After all, rights are being expanded all the time.

Terrorist number two, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, was being questioned by the FBI when a Federal Magistrate interrupted the questioning to tell Tsarnaev his rights under Miranda.  Basically, this warning begs the suspect not to talk to law enforcement.  Questioning outside of Miranda is allowable under certain circumstances.

This questioning led to valuable intelligence being obtained.  This is how we learned the Tsarnaev brothers had a plan in place to blow up Times Square.  Young Dzhokahr has since been mum on any additional information about the Tsarnaev's future plans.  We may never know the details of the training his brother appears to have received when he returned to Dagastan.  We may never know the details of the Brothers Dzhokhr and how they became radicalized.  We may never know where and when the next attack is coming.

We are at war.  This war is not against a nation it is against a philosophy.  It is a war against our way of life that wants us dead.  It doesn't just want our soldiers dead.  It wants smiling little boys who are standing with their families near a race's finish line dead.

It is not being fought on traditional battlefields.  It is assymetrical in nature.  Our nation can't fight this enemy in a court room.  Doing so only puts us in more danger and will result in more deaths like those seen in Boston.  How many little 8 year old boys need to die for our government to understand this?
