5 Important Factors To Evaluate a Neighborhood

When you buy a home, you are also buying the neighborhood-but how do you know ahead of time if a certain area will meet all of your family's needs? If you spend a bit of time in a neighborhood, you will get a general idea but you need to do a bit of research to learn all the particular details that are important to you. Let's break it down to the 5 Important Factors to Consider: 1. Amenities: what features do you want in a neighborhood? Things to consider might be shopping, transportation, parks, restaurants, cultural sites and nightlife. 2. Schools: Even if this is not important to you now, this is a huge resale consideration. Schools that have a high ranking by average test scores, grad rates and college bound students are a big plus. 3. Household Data: The average income, family type and homeowner education level and occupation are stats that you can learn about. 4. Crime Rate: A neighborhood with a history of low crime rates is ideal-research the details so you can make an informed decision. 5. Neighborhood Profile: Things like population density and commercial development are important aspects to consider. That's a lot of information to assemble!
