BLOG: Bike Month Kicks Off in O.C.

It's time to pull that road bike out of the garage and dust off your cruiser.

It’s time to pull that road bike out of the garage and dust off your cruisers – National Bike Month is kicking off May 1.

With more than 1,000 miles of bikeways and great weather nearly year-round, Orange County is an ideal environment for cycling.

Whether riding to work, to get your coffee on Saturday morning or downtown for dinner, every mile you take by bike makes an impact. It’s a healthy, money-saving alternative to driving, and OCTA is providing opportunities for the public to try cycling.

  • May 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Angels Game Day Bike Ride – a discounted game ticket and pre-game tailgate party sponsored by JAX Bicycle Center, along with a bike valet service will be available for those who bike to the game. Participants can RSVP online.
  • May 14-18 Bike to Work Week – OCTA will be holding a bike rally from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on May 10 to kick off the week. Cyclists will meet and ride from the Orange Metrolink Station to OCTA Headquarters.
