I believe Care Foundation donated money to the San Juan Capistrano Open Space Foundation. That would be money going from one non profit to another. Is that legal?

Sunshine...I don't think so.

These two non profit organizations have different mission statements. In order for it to be legal, for CARE to donate to SJC Open Space Foundation, they would need to have the same mission statements. People raising money for CARE, pets and people developing an events park, as for a wedding, or rodeo is not the same mission.

Ny research shows " that some donors would not approve of their money, in principle, going to another charity they did not choose, no matter how it fits or how worthy." As all the previous posters have mentioned, this is a big, big problem for CARES and Matt Gaffney.

Terms like "Open Space" & "Global Warming" tend to camouflage taxpayer rip offs. IF SDG&E is contributing then the $$$ will likely help finances a couple of "friendly" Council seats to rubber stamp their big wattage & rate increase plans.
