Step & Column Salary Freeze for 1/2 year could restore one additional instructional day to CUSD students at no extra cost to District.

Step & Column was represented to be frozen for ½ year 2013-2014. However the Tentative Agreement with Teachers did not include the previously agreed to 1/2 year freeze in Step & Column – a material change in contract from initial proposals to adopted Tentative Agreement.

By freezing Step & Column for ½ year, one instructional furlough day could have been restored to the DIstricts Calendar giving students 180 days of school at no increased cost to the District.
