2 Arrested in Rash of Garage Burglaries

The suspects allegedly broke into cars parked in closed garages on streets south of San Juan Creek Road.

Two people have been arrested in connection with a rash of burglaries from cars parked in garages south of San Juan Creek Road, officials said Wednesday.

Jordan Gardner, 20, a Laguna Niguel resident and Dagan Ohurn, 19, of San Juan Capistrano were booked on suspicion of burglary and receiving stolen property after investigators followed up on several leads in the case, according to Lt. John Meyer of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Ohurn was also booked on suspicion of possessing drugs.

Six thefts were reported in the area between Jan. 5-8. The targeted streets were:

  • Paseo Adante
  • Via Fernando
  • Via Buena Vista
  • Via Cervantes
  • Silver Creek

“Items were taken from vehicles parked inside closed garages and [in] one case from inside the unlocked home,” Meyer said.

He encouraged residents to remain vigilant by locking their vehicles, homes and garages.
