23-Year-old Pleads Not Guilty to Having Sex with San Juan Minor

A 23-year-old man arrested in San Juan Capistrano over the weekend pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges that he had sex with his underage girlfriend.

Ramiro Tampa Flores was arrested after the girl's parents contacted authorities. He is in jail on $165,000 bail.

Prosecutors allege Flores had sex with the underage girl on Oct. 1, 2010, and again March 27, 2011. In addition, he is charged with one count of the oral copulation of a minor under the age of 16 and one count of forcible lewd act upon a dependent person by a caretaker.

According to Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino, on Sunday morning, the girl's parents reported to police that their daughter might be missing. When they contacted Flores looking for her, he said he was with her and would bring her home.

Flores and the girl arrived at the house on Calle San Diego at about the same time as the deputies, who took him into custody after interviewing him and the family, Amormino said.
