Burglars Ransack San Juan Capistrano Home Sealed by Coroner; 4 Teens Arrested

A dozen firearms were stolen Saturday from the home in the 26000 block of La Zanja Street.

Thieves on Saturday ransacked a home on La Zanja street that had been sealed off by the Orange County coroner. Deputies arrested four teenagers in the theft.

The burglars snatched a dozen firearms, including several high-powered rifles and handguns, and several musical instruments, the Orange County Sheriff's Department reports.

Lt. John Meyer said the suspects' names are being withheld due to their ages.

According to Meyer, the thieves entered the home in the 26000 block through a side window.

The home had been sealed off by the coroner because of a death that occurred there two days prior.

Witnesses who saw the break-in taking place called 911. When sheriff's deputies arrived on the scene, they detained four teens and called in help from investigators.

The teens were later booked into juvenile hall, and all of the stolen items were recovered.
