Alleged Gang Members Get into Accident, Get Arrested

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, a suspicious man in a white van, a car breaks down in the middle of traffic, and a man yells gibberish to pedestrians.

At 9:45 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 20, a caller reported a car accident near the cross streets of La Zanja Street and Avenida De La Vista. Orange County firefighters were called onto the scene, and deputies detained two alleged gang members who had been involved in the accident. One of the members, a 20-year-old man, is currently in custody with no bail amount posted.

At 7:30 a.m. Tuesday Oct. 20, someone reported a suspicious person in the 25500 block of Via Del Rey. A man in a suspicious white van was circling the area.

At 7:32 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 20, a concerned caller asked deputies to assist someone near the cross streets of Ortega Highway and Camino Capistrano. A car was broken down in the middle of the freeway with a child inside of it.

At 6:27 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 21, an informant told sheriffs about a disturbance near the cross streets of Ortega Highway and Del Obispo Street. A man was walking around and yelling nonsense to pedestrians.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher.
