Cost of Bus Fare Leads to Heated Argument

These are selected reports from the San Juan Police dispatch services log throughout the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided. 

At 12:58 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a hit-and-run misdemeanor in the 32400 block of Paseo Adelanto. According to the report, a black Honda Civic was hit by a driver near . There was no description of the vehicle that hit the Civic. 

At 7:52 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 31200 block of Calle Del Campo. The informant was concerned about a woman who was digging through trash cans with a small child in a stroller

At 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 26400 block of Paseo Pamela. According to the report, a group of subjects was being loud and drinking alcohol in an alley. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 9:38 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a drunk in public near the Calle San Diego-Calle San Antonio intersection. The report stated four drunk people were hanging out near a blue Ford Explorer and were listening to loud music

At 4:48 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a petty theft near Camino Capistrano and Del Obispo Street. According to the report, the informant’s bike was stolen from . 

At 2:10 p.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 45-ear-old-man near the Via Berlardes-Del Obispo street intersection. According to the report, the man was in a vehicle and was in possession of narcotics. The report also stated the man may have been intoxicated. He was taken into custody, and there was no posted bail amount. 

At 1:45 p.m. Monday, deputies were called to conduct a welfare check in the 31700 block of Camino Capistrano. According to the report, firefighters and deputies were needed to check on a subject behind the

At 12:09 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Ortega Highway-I-5 freeway intersection. The report stated city personnel were needed to fix a manhole which had come out of place

At 6:32 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance near Camino Capistrano and Del Obispo Street. According to the report, a man had gotten into a heated verbal argument with a bus driver over the cost of the fare.  

At 11:57 a.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the Camino Capistrano-Avenida Padre intersection. According to the report, a man was detained for smoking narcotics near the recycling center behind . There was no report of an arrest.
