City Forklift Gets in Traffic's Way

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Also, two arrests, a tree limb impedes traffic and someone tries to steal from Vons.

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided. 

At 8:37 p.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 24-year-old woman on Junipero Serra Road near the I-5 freeway interchange. The woman was arrested on suspcion of failing to yield near JSerra Catholic High School. The woman has since been released on a bond. 

At 8:14 p.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 26-year-old man during a traffic stop near the intersection of Camino Capistrano and Del Obispo Street. The man had a female passenger and both subjects were detained and searched. Deputies later discovered the man had a warrant out for his arrest. He was taken into custody and bail was set for $35,000.

At 5:28 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Del Obispo-Calle Aspero intersection. The informant reported that a city worker was disturbing the flow of traffic while operating a fork-lift near Armstrong Nursery. 

At 3:12 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the Camino Capistrano-Ortega Highway intersection. The report stated that a large tree branch had fallen across the street from the the Mission and was disturbing the flow of traffic. The city was advised of the situation.

At 9:28 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 26700 block of Lariat Circle. The informant was reportedly disturbed by loud music that appeared to be coming from a party. The party was advised of the complaint, and the noise subsided. 

At 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 32400 block of Camino Capistrano. The report stated that a man was caught stealing from the Vons grocery store. Deputies reported the man was being cooperative.
