Soccer Referee Attacked on the Field

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided. 

At 10:15 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 30800 block of Calle Chueca. According to the report, the informant was disturbed by a loud party happening in his area.

At 7:54 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Calle San Fransisco-Avenida La Vista intersection. The informant was reportedly disturbed by several men who were drinking alcohol and playing loud music in an alleyway near Calle San Francisco.

At 7:01 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a battery assault near the Camino Del Avion-Del Obispo Street intersection. According to the report, a referee was assaulted on a soccer field at the San Juan Capistrano Sports Park. Paramedics were reportedly not needed. 

At 4:58 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a drunk driver near the Ortega Highway-Camino Capistrano intersection. According to the report, the driver of a red and white Nissan was seen tailgating and swerving in and out of lanes

At 3:19 p.m. Sunday, deputies assisted animal control near the Alipaz-Del Obispo streets intersection. The report stated that animal control was needed to contain two pit bulls that were running loose on Alipaz Street. 

At 3:33 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a petty theft in the 32100 block of Camino Capistrano. According to the report, two female minors were detained in the Rite Aid manager’s office for stealing. The report stated the girls were being cooperative, and their parents were responding. 

At 2:55 a.m. Saturday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 25500 block of Via Del Rey. According to the report, a man and a woman were heard in a heated verbal argument in their back yard. Both parties were advised they were disturbing the neighbors. 

At 7:37 p.m. Friday, deputies arrested a 32-year-old-man near Calle San Pedro and Via San Vicente. According to the report, the man was suspected of selling narcotics and was driving without a proper drivers license. He was taken into custody, and there was no posted bail amount. 

At 5:44 a.m. Friday, a caller reported a drunk driver near the Camino Capistrano-Junipero Serra Road intersection. The informant reportedly saw a subject who appeared to be intoxicated in a white Mercedes Benz while stopped at the intersection. 

At 4:46 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a weapon being brandished in the 29200 block of Vista Montana. Deputies reportedly took a subject into custody.
