Drunks and Water Balloon-Throwing

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Various reports selected from the San Juan Capistrano police dispatch log throughout the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided. 

At 1:29 a.m. Friday, police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Horseshoe Bend and Horno Creek Road. Deputies pulled over a vehicle and discovered the subject had less than one ounce of medical marijuana. There appeared to be no citation. 

At 6:26 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a non-injury traffic accident near the Los Rios-La Zanja streets intersection. According to the report, a silver Dodge pickup and a silver Toyota Camry had collided.

At 1:57 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a traffic hazard near the intersection at Camino Capistrano and San Juan Creek Road. According to the report, a blue PT Crusier had broken down and was disrupting traffic

At 12:02 p.m. Thursday, deputies detained a drunk in public in the 33900 block of Doheny Park Road.

At 7:02 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Alipaz-Del Obispo streets intersection. According to the report, someone had been throwing water balloons at passing vehicles on Alipaz Street. 

At 9:58 a.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 44-year-old-man near the intersection at Del Obispo and Forster Lane. Deputies were conducting a pedestrian check and discovered the man had a warrant out for his arrest. He was taken into custody and bail was set for $15,000. 

At 10:06 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 26400 block of Paseo Carmel. The informant was upset about minors who were kicking a soccer ball into a garage and were making a very loud noise.

At 2:31 p.m. Monday, deputies arrested a 61-year-old-man in the 32700 block of Alipaz Street. He was driving with an excessive blood alcohol level. He was cited and eventually released.
