BLOTTER: Kids Smoke in the Shadows

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided. 

At 12:03 p.m. Thursday, deputies assisted a citizen in the 27100 block of the Ortega Highway. The report stated that a man had checked into a room at the and refused to leave and pay for the room.

At 1:48 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 31400 block of Paseo Campeon. The informant was reportedly disturbed by a group of subjects who were being loud in a pool. Deputies were dispatched and responded to the call.

At 12:14 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance near the Del Obispo-Alipaz streets intersection. The report stated that a drunk man was loitering and being loud in front of . There was no report of an arrest. 

At 8:57 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 31200 block of Calle Bolero. The call was regarding a drunk who was blaring loud music in her backyard and yelling over her fence. Deputies were dispatched, and the woman eventually turned down the music.

At 8:06 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 31500 block of Paseo Don Jose. The informant was reportedly disturbed by a group of minors who appeared to be taunting a dog. The minors were seen rattling a fence and were making the dog bark. 

At 7:54 p.m. Wednesday, deputies arrested a 21-year-old woman in the 25500 block of Calle Jardin. The woman had a warrant out for her arrest and was taken into custody with no posted bail amount. 

At 7:06 p.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a disturbance near Camino Capistrano and Del Obispo Street. The report stated a man had wandered into a flower shop and the and started yelling at employes. The man was suspected of being drunk.

At 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, a caller reported a suspicious person near the Calle Belmonte-Via Sonora intersection. The informant appeared to be concerned about a subject with a shopping cart who was rummaging into trash cans. It was unknown if the subject was a man or a woman. 

At 11 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance near the intersection of Aguacate Road and Calle Roberto. The report stated that several minors were seen loitering in a dark area while they smoked an unknown substance on Aguacate. 

At 3:40 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a reckless driver near the intersection of San Juan Creek and Valle roads. The report stated that a subject who appeared to be drunk was swerving all over the road in a black utility truck with ladders on top. The driver was last seen heading west on San Juan Creek.
