Man Seen Checking for Unlocked Cars

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.

At 10:45 a.m. Monday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 27800 block of Horseshoe Bend. The report stated that two subjects were rideing all-terain vehicles on a hiking trail

At 10:46 p.m. Sunday, a caller reportedly heard a single firearm discharge near the Los Rios-Ramos streets intersection.

At 7:36 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance near the intersection of Camino Los Ramblas and Montanas Del Mar. The report stated that two men and one woman were heard in a heated verbal argument at the deadend of Camino Las Ramblas. The informant stated the subjects appeared to be intoxicated. 

At 3:03 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a suspicious circumstance in the 27100 block of Calle Arroyo. The report stated that a man was checking for unlocked car doors in the 24 Hour Fitness parking lot. The man was in his 40s and had on a tan T-shirt and blue jeans.

At 2:48 p.m. Saturday, a caller reported a reckless driver near the Horseshoe Bend and Horno Creek Road. The informant stated there were two quads; each with a passenger riding on the trail above Horseshoe Bend. There was no report of an arrest. 

At 1:29 p.m. Friday, deputies were called to conduct a welfare check near the Del Obispo Street-Camino Capistrano intersection. Deputies were needed to check on a disoriented woman in her 40s who was wandering around downtown. The report stated that the woman appeared to be intoxicated. 

At 10:57 a.m. Friday, a caller reported an abandoned vehicle in the 30000 block of Hillside Terrance. The report stated that a white Ford Expedition had been parked near an emergency access for five days. The vehicle’s doors appeared to be locked.

At 11:37 p.m. Thursday, deputies conducted a pedestrian check near the intersection of Calle San Juan and Calle San Luis. Deputies reportedly stopped two men in Calle San Juan who were both on probation

At 7:01 p.m. Thursday, a caller reported a disturbance in the 31900 block of Del Obispo Street. The informant was reportedly disturbed by a subject who was playing loud music from a vehicle. The music was coming from a shopping center on Alipaz. 

At 9:50 a.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a grand theft in the 30400 block of Rancho Viejo Road. The report stated that an employee of Mercury Cable and Energy was accused of embezzlement. The employee was unable to be located.
