Deputies Arrest Man for Opium, Warrant

SHERIFF'S BLOTTER: Selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano police dispatch log throughout the past few days.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided. 

At 9:29 a.m. Thursday, deputies arrested a 20-year-old-man near the Ortega Highway-Del Obispo Street intersection. According to the report, the man had a warrant out for his arrest and was possibly under the influence of opium. He was taken into custody, and bail was set for $15,000. 

At 7:37 p.m. Wednesday, a caller reported a disturbance near the I-5 Freeway on Ortega Highway. The caller reportedly saw a group of men near the freeway off-ramp who looked like they were getting ready to fight

At 6:23 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were called to conduct a patrol check near the Calle Jardin-Via La Pluma intersection. They were called to investigate a man who was walking down the street while drinking a beer

At 12:16 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to assist firefighters in the 31800 block of Del Obispo Street. A man had stopped breathing at the .

At 5:26 p.m. Tuesday, deputies stopped a vehicle in the 32100 block of Paseo Carolina. According to the report, three subjects were detained for drinking. There was no report of an arrest.
