Deputies Ask Public's Help in ID'ing Female Remains Found in Caspers

PHOTOS: Several items of clothing may lead investigators to her identity.

Officials with the Orange County Sheriff's Department is hoping the public can help them identify remains of a female found in Caspers Wilderness Park just outside of San Juan Capistrano Jan. 6.

"It is estimated that the remains have been exposed to the elements for a period of at least six months," said a news alert from the department.

After preliminary testing, it has been determined that the remains are of a petite female, at least 30 years of age, shoulder length wavy dark brown hair with light colored highlights."

The department released photos of clothing found with the remains in hopes that someone would recognize it. Among them are:

  1. A size small, dark colored windbreaker type of jacket with snaps, manufactured by Auburn Sportswear. The front right side of the jacket has the embroidered words “Coach Williams” on it and the front left side of the jacket has a logo depicting a volleyball or a water polo ball.
  2. A pair of dark colored athletic yoga style pants made of spandex/cotton with light colored stripes down the side of both legs and a rear positioned zipper. The inseam measured approximately 29”-30”.
  3. A pinkish speckled short sleeved or tank top T-shirt with a black line design
  4. A bright green hair scrunchie band (not in shown in above photographs)

The woman also had a very distinct gold colored dental bridge on her left lower jaw and possibly had a broken nose at some point in her life, the press release states.
