Deputies Catch Hit-and-Run Suspect

These are selected reports from the San Juan Capistrano Police Dispatch Services log throughout the past few days. The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. At 6:34 p.m. Sunday, a resident in the San Juan Mobile Estates called police to report an ATM card stolen.

At 5:46 p.m. Sunday, a 27-year-old man was arrested after getting pulled over for reckless driving near the Calle San Diego-Avenida de la Vista intersection. The man had a warrant out for his arrest. There was no information on bail.

At 2:42 p.m. Sunday, several subjects on motorcycles were reported trespassing on private property near the intersection of Viewpoint Circle and Hillside Terrace.

At 11:57 p.m. Saturday, sheriff’s deputies had to make a second trip to a house on La Zanja Street near Calle San Francisco. Neighbors were complaining about a loud party.

At 7:31 p.m. Saturday, neighbors in the 29400 block of Black Ridge Road called to complain about a party featuring a live band.

At 5:02 p.m. Saturday, two subjects were reportedly in a physical fight behind a home in the 31900 block of Del Obispo Street. The informant stated there were no weapons, and the fight was taking place in a garage.

At 3:58 p.m. Saturday, a caller said three bald, juvenile males were seen driving recklessly near the corner of Los Rios and La Zanja streets. They were reportedly in a white truck.

At 11:12 a.m. Saturday, a grand theft was reported from the AT&T store in the 32300 block of Camino Capistrano. The report did not say what was stolen.

At 3:17 a.m. Saturday, sheriff’s deputies caught up to and were able to arrest a suspect connected with a hit-and-run misdemeanor in the 31500 block of Calle Arroyo. The suspect, a 33-year-old man just two days after his birthday, was being held on $50,000 bail.
